Who Am I?

A natural-born empath and optimist with a strong sense of advocacy, which led me right into the work I love to do everyday.

Yes, I was the kid who waved hello to strangers and pet every dog that passed by. Honestly, I’m still her today. My curiosity about people and my big heart made majoring in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling make all the sense in the world. After graduating with my Masters degree and entering the mental health field, I was excited to work and ready to change the world! I was able to experience working with many diverse clients in all types of settings such as prison, rehabs, schools, mental health organizations, and even in client’s homes. My experiences led me into private practice, where I ran a mental health counseling practice in Charlotte, NC for 8 years. It was a great success, and as a result many lives were changed. And then something happened… I started to get burned out.

It wasn’t that I didn’t love helping others through their mental health concerns- I’ve always loved helping. It was the fact that inside I felt a churning to focus my helping energy on a more positive, strength-based approach. An approach where I no longer viewed my role as ‘fixer’ but as an advocate who could push my clients to their greatest level of potential. My move to Chicago prompted me to take the step I’d only ever imagined and transition to working authentically in my newest purpose, being your coach.
